Tailored Breaks for Every Child

As part of the New Reflexions family, our Short Breaks service fosters a nurturing environment where every child feels known and listened to. We welcome all children aged 5 to 18 years with a range of learning disabilities including (but not limited to) children with Autism, Global Development Delay, ADHD, and communication difficulties.

We work with families, taking their thoughts into consideration when developing the short breaks programme for an individual child. We recognise each child and their requirements as unique and believe that working together is important.

Short Break Placement Options:

  • After school and overnight
  • 24hour / day including an overnight stay
  • Weekend stay
  • Week stay
Testimonials

Feedback from the people we support

“The Head Teacher and her team have been exceptional in helping my child transition into education. They quickly identified both strengths and areas needing further support, conducting assessments to guide future planning. My child’s transition into school was well-managed, child-cantered, and highly supportive. This process included home visits from the Head Teacher, social stories at a level appropriate for my child, and taster session, all of which helped build a strong foundation of safety and trust, making the experience of moving school much smoother for my child.”

"The staff team supporting my young person have gone above and beyond to ensure his safety and to assist him with developing his independence skills. The young person has been through extremely difficult situations during his time supported by the team and this has included mental health crises, exploitation concerns, substance misuse and risky relationships."

Walsall Council

"I think the service does well in maintaining a good environment for the young people and the residential care workers. "

Social Worker

“The staff in the classrooms work very hard to ensure the children make progress, no matter how difficult it is with communication difficulties, and work tirelessly to ensure the students receive the best education tailored to their very individual needs”

The school team provide positive updates at EPEP meetings and work well with the local authority to effectively improve experiences for the children and young people that attend”
